I like the sentiment (note that I bought every update since 7.0).

I think this would generate a lot of buzz, and a lot of interest in  
Director. "This time we did it right, and we want every current and  
previous user of Director to benefit".

Tons of revenue, as everyone who has a copy of Director 3.0 will dig  
it out and go for the update - many folks love to own a new  
powerhorse, if only for the good feeling of having made a bargain ;-)
