Thank you all for your feedback. Some responses are listed below.
Alex:
- I had set emulatemultibuttonmouse = TRUE but for some reason had commented
out that line?
Steve:
- In the help button I explain how to rotate with the mouse which is the
main way I envisioned people playing the puzzle. But from Alex's email I see
that I forgot to set emulatemultibuttonmouse = TRUE ! Sorry about that.
- I have no idea why the wand would not appear for you. Anyone else have
that problem or any ideas?
Richard:
- Concerning the gaps in the sound, were you running any other major CPU
tasks? That is the only reason I can think of as the sounds are queued up
before they are required.
- As to the stopping of motion I have no idea. Were you able to move the
pieces around after they stopped moving?
- I knowingly kept all pieces at the same depth, based on your and other
feedback I could "stack" pieces based on size if you set them down on top of
others but that would not be natural. You can always pick up the nearly
complete puzzle and move it over to see the other pieces. Any suggestions?
Agus:
- Thanks
Rasmus:
- Thanks
- I understand that these effects make it more difficult but it's a
conscious decision except for the symmetry of the image which will vary with
the image. I may also tone down the shininess of the surface which would
help some.
- On the shadows I can see your point and I'll look into it. I didn't have
the shadows fall on the other pieces as I couldn't think of an easy way to
implement it at the time. I'd like to do it so I'll think about it some
more.
- The only highlighting on a "held" piece now is sparks coming from the
wand, maybe I could make the piece glow or something.
- I agree with you on the softening of the edges. As I create the pieces
dynamically each time, I would have to create an alpha image dynamically as
well. I'm not sure I'll get to it. I did not understand your comment on the
4xAA antialiasing. Is that something you turned on?
- Less subtle sparks, more subtle background. OK! ;)
- The only way to resolve this is to "stack" up the pieces at different
depths or have them move away from each other to avoid overlap. Neither of
these seem like particularly good solutions to me.
- Extremely useful feedback! No offense taken.
Sabastian:
- Thanks
Thanks everyone,
Brian
